XV European KAIZEN™ Congress
This year’s European KAIZEN™ Congress took place on November 28-30 in Wroclaw, Poland. It was the 15th KAIZEN™ Congress in Poland joined by about 200 participants and yet again a great success. The main topic of the Congress was “Building a KAIZEN™ culture. Breakthrough KAIZEN™ projects which change the culture of the organization”.
On the first day Speakers from well-known European companies that implemented KAIZEN™ methodologies successfully and from Kaizen Institute shared their experience in this area. Jayanth Murthy, Director of Kaizen Institute India opened the Congress with the main speech, which turned out to be a great inspiration for the participants. He was followed by 5 lectures from various companies such as FCA Poland, PKP Energetyka, Shell, PPG Deco and Santander Bank Poland. All case studies were based on real KAIZEN™ practices within the organizations. Additionally, during the afternoon session, there were 8 interactive workshops lead by KAIZEN™ practitioners from various companies.
In the evening, after a festive gala dinner, the winner of the KAIZEN™ Award Poland, Grupa Kapitałowa PKP Energetyka was announced. Kaizen Institute Poland also presented KAIZEN™ Award Poland Distinctions for two other companies: Coca-Cola HBC Poland and Wika Poland. Additionally, two companies were awarded for Partner Cooperation with Kaizen Institute Poland: Velux Poland received the title TOP KAIZEN™ 2018 and Geberit Produkcja – TOP KAIZEN™ New Partner.
During the Benchmark Tours on the second day the participants visited 7 companies such as FCA Poland, Velux, VOLVO, Cooper Standard, UTC Aerospace Systems, Sitech, US Pharmacia, which have already implemented KAIZEN™ tools and a KAIZEN™ culture. The participants had the opportunity to get practical insights to those implementations.
The third day was a practical workshop day in three different companies based in Wroclaw vicinities (Velux, Volvo, UTC Aerospace Systems) where congress participants could learn about the application of selected KAIZEN™ tools at the host factories. In small groups, the participants shared their experience with the hosts and among each other.
