Siemens Manufacturing Karlsruhe Certified as 5S Best in Class

On July 23rd to 24th, Siemens plant in Karlsruhe, Germany was recertified and recognized as 5S Best in Class for 2019. Despite several moves in April of 2019, Siemens Karlsruhe upheld excellence in application of 5S methodologies and principles – receiving the certification for its fifth consecutive year.

The evaluation was conducted by a consultant from Kaizen Institute Germany.
Areas of productivity, efficiency, safety, ergonomics, and the involvement of employees were examined in production and administration during the evaluation process.

In order to be certified as 5S Best in Class, companies are required to meet a minimum 95 percent fulfillment requirement. Siemens Karlsruhe achieved an overall result of 98 percent with a one percentage point increase from 2018.
